Job Duties:
This is a full-time field position in the Community Health Services Branch, and duties will include: fatality review facilitation and management; plans, implements, and provides assistance in all aspects of the CCPH epidemiological programs; collects, interprets, performs statistical analysis, and presents data to a wide variety of audiences; learn and use data visualization platforms; ability to research and implement best practices necessary to promote health equity, reduce disparities, and to be a resource on the subject matter; conducting investigation and surveillance of reportable infectious diseases; conducting basic epidemiologic analysis and disseminate findings via reports or presentations; participating in outbreak and other epidemiologic investigations; and participating in emergency preparedness activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s degree in related field or public health experience preferred
- Completion of at least one graduate-level course in epidemiology and biostatistics required or an ability to complete these courses within six months of hire
- Two (2) years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
- Must meet CDC/CSTE requirements for Tier 2: Epidemiologist
- Must have strong computer skills and ability to use epidemiological software
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in partnership with other staff
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Required to have regular and predictable attendance

Clermont County Public Health offers a generous benefits package to all full-time employees:
- Health Insurance – Employees may choose coverage from single to full family benefits based on eligibility. Depending on the selection, the agency pays 81% - 87% of coverage. The value of health insurance ranges from $ 5,884 to $22,542 annually. In addition, employees selecting high deductible plans can receive $600 – $1,200 per year for a health savings account.
- Dental Insurance – Optional for employees to pick up, for $12.25 – $37.51 per pay period.
- Vision Insurance – Optional for employees to pick up, at $2.82 – $8.08 per pay period.
- Life Insurance – Agency provides $25,000 annually, with no charge to employees.
- Supplemental Life Insurance – Employees may purchase up to $250,000 for employees, $100,000 for spouses, and $20,000 for children.
- Accident and Critical Illness Insurance – Coverage is available to be picked up by the employee.
- Long-term Disability – Agency picks up the first five years until the employee becomes vested in PERS.
- Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) – All employees contribute 10% of their salary to PERS, and the agency contributes 14%. Agency estimated value based on the above salary range from $5,600 to $7,700 annually. Employees do not pay federal social security tax from income; all contributions go directly towards PERS.
- Deferred Compensation Plans– Employees may contribute to tax-deferred supplemental retirement accounts.
- Tuition Assistance Program – CCPH offers tuition assistance to all employees after one year of service, up to 90% reimbursement.
- Paid Holiday, Vacation, Sick, and Personal Leave – Vacation starts at two weeks annually with up to 5 weeks per year at 20 years of service. In addition, employees receive eleven to thirteen paid holidays annually. Sick leave accrues at 4.6 hours per 80-hour pay period, which amounts to 15 days per year. Full-time employees earn one personal day per year and can convert sick leave for up to an additional three days per year.
- Sick Leave Rewards- Employees with low sick leave usage traditionally receive an annual sick leave bonus of up to $500 and are also eligible for quarterly drawings, which could earn up to an additional $240 per year.
- Fleet Vehicle – CCPH provides fleet vehicles to inspection staff and covers all fuel and maintenance. Fleet vehicles are not take-home vehicles.
