On 8/12, The Academy of Medicine hosted leaders from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Chicago Regional Office for a Practice Listening Session. We were the first stop in their "Rural Road Trip" aimed at gathering feedback from physicians and staff from practices in Ohio.
Physician and administrator representatives came to the table prepared with detailed questions and challenges related to the new G2211 add-on code, treating patients in rural settings, proposed cuts for 2025, expense burdens related to prior authorizations, and more.
Following their "Rural Road Trip", CMS representatives contacted The Academy, stating: "It was a wonderful opportunity to share CMS priorities and listen to the challenges/issues your providers and the community at large is facing. We took copious notes and will be working the next days to ensure all that we discuss reaches the appropriate group and divisions within CMS that handle feedback, answer questions and effect change."
