Community Development Planner

Stark County Regional Planning Commission

Job Description: Stark County Regional Planning Commission is accepting applications for a full time Community Development Planner. This is a professional position in the Community Development Department responsible for assisting with and preparing significant elements of the agency’s federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME programs and other federal, state and local programs. This employee may assist with other community development and administrative activities which include, but are not limited to, property acquisition, building rehab and demolition, contract administration and real estate activities. This is an exempt professional position under the provision of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. Characteristic Work: Prepares technical components of the CDBG and HOME programs including the following: project proposal review, annual application, year-end reporting, project implementation and oversight, program monitoring and record keeping. Meets with and provides technical assistance to local officials and non-profits agencies. Performs research, survey work and other activities as required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two (2) years professional experience in a planning related field in urban/regional planning; or a master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in urban/regional planning or closely related field.
