Since 1940, the County Engineers Association of Ohio has worked to unify its members in providing the highest quality transportation, drainage, surveying and land record keeping services. From the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services to continuing land development needs, CEAO strives to construct solutions for many challenges to Ohio's local infrastructure. Ohio County Engineers are responsible for 26,081 bridges and 28,970 miles of urban and rural roadways that are vital to the combined growth of jobs and prosperity in the state of Ohio.

Here's How Officials Put Safety First when Building Roads and Bridges in Yellowstone National Park

As you drive through Yellowstone National Park, have you ever wondered how roads are safely built through and near hydrothermal areas?

While roads are usually not constructed through major thermal features, the hydrothermal activity is so pervasive throughout the park that building roads through and near hydrothermal areas is sometimes unavoidable — like the road that passes near Beryl Spring and proved to be a major engineering challenge, and the road that crosses thermal ground in Lower Geyser Basin and is the source of the “melting roads of Yellowstone” story.

Ohio Veterans Find New Roads in Civilian Life through Trucking

It’s a different view for Billy Taylor as he climbs up into the cab of his semi-truck. He sits up proudly, preparing to join the bustle of the interstate.

“They say you're the captain of your own ship in the truck,” says Taylor. “You're responsible for things.”

After more than 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, he’s trading in the open water for the open road.

Ohio Counties Under Quarantine for Spotted Lanternfly

(WJW) – The spread of the spotted lanternfly (SLF) in Ohio has prompted the state to issue quarantines in areas seeing infestations of the invasive bug.

The pest, originally from Asia, poses a significant threat to agriculture and forestry due to its destructive feeding habits.

Quarantines are in effect in 12 Ohio counties, 4 of them in Northeast Ohio: Cuyahoga, Lorain, Columbiana and Mahoning.

Affordable Housing Approved for Delaware Engineering Office Site

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — A proposal is moving forward to bulldoze a Delaware building that previously housed the county’s engineering office to make way for an affordable housing complex.

The Delaware Planning Commission recommended approval on Sept. 4 of Columbus-based developer Homeport’s plan to transform the site at 50 Channing St. into a residential complex with 44 rental properties and eight single-family homes without income restrictions.
