Our in-person Spring Conference was cancelled because of ongoing meeting restrictions due to COVID-19. However, we are pleased to offer a Virtual Spring Conference on May 21st from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm that will offer 5 hours of continuing education credit.

Continuing Education Hours

We will be registering the 2 hours of TOS credit through the CPIM portal. At the end of the conference, we’ll provide the passwords you’ll need to register the TOS hours in the CPIM portal.

For your AOS hours, we’ll provide Denise Carr an electronic log of all who participated in this Zoom conference. Denise will then assign the 3 credit hours you’ll be eligible for.

All hours should be available for review/confirmation in the weeks prior to the conference. If you have issues with getting your hours, simply contact us and we’ll work with the AOS & TOS offices to confirm attendance.

Legislative Update

Government Advantage Group will be updating the membership on our current legislative activities, with specific references to several bills the CTAO is advancing. We hear from Sen. Steve Wilson, as well as Treasurer Robert Sprague and Auditor Keith Faber.

OPCS Update

Walt Myers, Chief of Custodial Services and Director of Trust at the Ohio Treasurer of State’s Office will provide an overview and update on the Ohio Pooled Collateral System.

How to Prepare for an Audit & COVID Funding Update

We'll hear from Rhonda Kline and Teresa Hicks, two members of the State Auditor’s Audit Team, who will provide an overview of how to prepare for your annual state audits, and special considerations of how to handle federal funds (CARES Act & American Recovery Plan).

A Review of Ohio’s Economy, the Biennial Budget, & the Future

OBM Director Kimberly Murnieks will provide an overview on Ohio’s Economy, the Biennial Budget (HB 110), how federal CARES Act & American Rescue Plan dollars are being used, and what the future economy looks like for our state.

1:00 pm — 2:00 pm

Roundtable Discussions

Roundtable Discussions will take place in virtual breakout rooms, based on population. This is an opportunity for treasurers to interact with their like-sized counterparts to discuss what has been happening in their county over the past 14 months, issues and concerns that have arisen, how they’ve handled them, and concern they have as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
