Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication

Grace College invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, department and college service, scholarly activity, and professional development. We seek a colleague with teaching expertise in interpersonal communication, quantitative research methods, intercultural communication, and/or communication theory. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian liberal arts undergraduate education and will help oversee the Public Speaking in Society general education course.

The Department of Humanities is housed within the School of Arts & Sciences and includes the Communication Program, English & Journalism Program, Modern Languages Program, and History & Political Science Program. Our department sponsors a campus newspaper and literary magazine, a podcast studio, Mediation Team, faculty-led trips, and other activities. Qualifications: This position offers an exciting opportunity to a faculty member with both academic and research experience who seeks to contribute to the growth of the Department of Humanities and the Communication Program. The successful candidate will have:

• A Ph.D. in communication or a related field.

• A vision for supporting the continued development and growth of the Communication Program.

• A research plan that can involve undergraduate students appropriate for a liberal arts college.

• Evidence of excellence in teaching.

• A desire to integrate faith with learning in all areas of life.

• A commitment to collaborate with colleagues and students.

• Evidence of relevant scholarship.

• Additional relevant area(s) of knowledge and teaching ability (e.g. journalism, political science or political communication, media studies, religious communication, philosophy, etc.).
