The March of Dimes 2025 Construction & Transportation Awards Luncheon that was held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago was the 31st Anniversary of this unique event. Powering Chicago and ECA member, John Burns were among the sponsors of this special program. Congratulations to John Burns for being the "Fund the Mission” sponsor with a donation of $15,000 and congratulations to Mae Whiteside Williams, CKL Engineers, LLC who received the Rufus Taylor Award! Nick Madonia, John Burns introduced the Ambassador Family for the event – the Collins Family. Charlotte Taylor Powers, Taylor Electric Company introduced the Rufus Taylor Award winner.
The overall awardees / special recognitions for this year’s event were as follows:
Construction Award: Joint Public Safety Training Campus;
Transportation Award: Red and Purple Modernization (RPM) Phase One Project;
Leadership in the Public Sector Award: Eva-Dina Delgado, Illinois State Rep.;
Leadership in the Private Sector Award: Keith Miller, K.R. Miller Contractors, Inc.;
The Ambassador Family was the Collins Family;
Professional Services Award: Carole Morley, RINA;
Rufus Taylor Award: Mae Whiteside Williams, CKL Engineers, LLC;
Lifetime Achievement Award: Daniel Burke, SPAAN Tech, Inc.; and
Wintrust Community Impact Award: Build Up Cook – Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
