Cash reward offered following armed bank robbery in Middle Tennessee

Officials are investigating the armed robbery of a bank in Springfield.

An individual entered Volunteer State Bank on Memorial Boulevard at about 2 p.m. Thursday, produced a handgun and demanded money, according to a news release.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the bank and the individual fled the scene, the release said.

Now, the Springfield Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are asking the public for help in identifying the individual.

A cash reward is being offered in exchange for information that leads to the arrest of the individual.
