WSPA 7 News

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Myrtle Beach man is currently behind bars after he allegedly made a false 911 call about an Upstate high school to divert authorities from a bank robbery.

44-year-old Brian Humphries was arrested for reportedly robbing the Dogwood State Park Bank on Clemson Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the bank robbery, deploying multiple resources, including K9 units and drone operators, to track down the suspect.

Surveillance photos confirmed Humphries’s identity, leading to his capture shortly after the robbery. Detectives learned that the individual allegedly attempted to disguise himself by changing clothes after fleeing the bank on foot.
