COVID-19 Update from Governor Beshear

They are currently looking at April 1st or April 2nd as a practice run for drive-thru testing in Franklin County. Only vulnerable people will be allowed to participate (60+ years of age with underlying conditions and showing symptoms; first responders who are showing symptoms or have been quarantined). University of Louisville will be processing tests; results should be available within 12-24 hours

• Kentucky National Guard was called into action to help feed the commonwealth’s seniors, families and displaced workers. They will deploy to four regional food bank warehouses in Louisville, Elizabethtown, Wilder and Lexington.

• Unemployment scams are circulating. If you receive an email about unemployment, but it is not from a ky.gov address, do not respond.

• Testing scams are also popping up for both at-home tests and drive-up test sites. Trust kits and sites only if they are in conjunction with the health care facility, state department, university or a reputable partner. Testing only being done on the most vulnerable. Follow the states guidance on when to call health care providers and get testing.

• Governor Beshear has issued an executive order limiting travel from Kentucky to other states. Anyone who has been out of state for leisure is asked to return home and self-quarantine for 14 days – this is a requirement. Exceptions to traveling out of state include:

• Schools will remain closed until 5/1/2020.

• Executive order will be expanding existing order on travel restrictions
