Eric has been a licensed funeral director for 44 years and is currently a Funeral Director and General Manager with SCI in the Indianapolis area. He was born in Carmi, IL and graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He was owner and managing partner of Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN and Arbor Cremation Center in Evansville, until 2006 when he became an Industrial Relations Representative with the Cox Group covering the Mid-Western United States specializing in Human Resource and Industrial Safety.
Eric previously served as District 9 Director and Secretary/Treasurer of IFDA and was appointed to the Indiana Board of Funeral and Cemetery Service by Governor Joe Kernan in 2004. He was elected Coroner in Posey County Indiana in 2006.
Eric and his wife Kara (Rankin) reside in the Carefree Neighborhood in Greenwood, IN and have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. When not working Eric enjoys attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events and photography.
