Our presentations and discussions about home-based nursing care are enthusiastically received, developing new relationships and expanding the influence of IHCNO. We are passionate about bringing together like-minded nurses who provide many different types of home-based nursing within this specialty practice. Our travel is always fully self-financed and at no cost to IHCNO as part of our commitment to advancing quality home-based nursing practice.
We receive emails from individuals around the world asking how they can be involved in IHCNO. Our committees offer leadership and learning opportunities for you to make a difference in home-based nursing care. Projects include developing undergraduate curriculum and student experiences in home-based nursing, creating clinical orientation and mentoring programs, establishing preceptor competencies and evaluations, identifying best practices for clinical care, and creating a certification program to recognize individuals and validate their specialty expertise to employers and patients. As foundational information, read Kathy Duckett’s article in this newsletter about the task force conducting seminal work on the scope and standards of home-based nursing practice.
To further evidence-based practice, our request for applications for research funding is open and posted on our website. The Marilyn D.
