As part of its vision to be a recognized leader in the specialty of home care nursing through practice, education, research, and advocacy, the International Home Care Nurses Organization (IHCNO) has announced the formation of a Task Force in collaboration with the American Nurses Association (ANA) to develop the International Scope and Standards for Home-Based Nursing (HBN) Practice. The Task Force is co-chaired by Mary Narayan and Marilyn Harris. It consists of 25 nurses from 15 different countries, representing the broad scope of home-based nursing practice. The Task Force commenced its work in April 2025 and aims to complete the development of the standards and competencies by the end of December 2025. Progress reports will be provided periodically throughout the year.
