Care &Support National Coordinator, National AIDS Council – Zimbabwe
Caroline was nominated by Dr. Bernard Madzima, Chief Executive Officer, National AIDS Council – Zimbabwe.
“Caroline is a registered general nurse with a post-basic qualification in midwifery and community health nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Non-Profit Organization. Caroline has over 25 years of community work experience, starting with the Ministry of Health Child Care, where she worked with general patients as a midwife and nurse educator for 2 years at Bonda Mission Hospital in Zimbabwe.
Caroline’s current work is focused on the management, coordination, and provision of technical support for national AIDS Care and Support strategies, including Community and home-based care and chronic conditions, including TB, cancer, other non-communicable diseases, and for adolescents and children living with HIV.
Caroline’s position also ensures the formation and functionality of multi-sectoral national, provincial, and district community care taskforces, technical working groups, including the HIV Sensitive Social Protection Partnerships at all levels. The coordinator also identifies key monitoring indicators (process and outcome) for community care and support and reports on progress that is made. Responsibilities include facilitating the development of national training materials.
Before assuming her current position, Caroline coordinated the Community Home Based Programmes in two non-governmental organizations. One organization is Africare, where the coordinator worked as a Home-Based Coordinator in a project that focused on male empowerment, and World Vision International Zimbabwe Office, which coordinated a mother and child program.
