I very much enjoyed visiting with those of you who attended the President’s Forum virtual meeting on November 11. The President’s Forum is a special time for me to listen to you and understand what is important to you as a nurse and as a member of IHCNO. I will continue the quarterly meetings in 2026 with the next one on February 10 at 8 am Eastern Time.
I am pleased to report that Dr. Mary C. Narayan was elected to the Board of Directors at the November 11 meeting. Dr. Narayan was a co-investigator in the 4-survey research study completed in January this year to identify the scope, standards, and competencies of home-based nurses. Mary’s participation on the Board will provide Directors in-depth information about the IHCNO task force review of study findings. The findings can guide committees as they develop projects related to home-based nursing curriculum, practice, research programs, and policy.
IHCNO will have additional openings on the Board of Directors in March 2026. A requirement for the position is that the prospective nominee has been active in a committee or leadership role in IHCNO. Please contact us at info@ihcno.org if you want to know more about a Director position.
All of our committees welcome new members. Committees include:
IHNCO is making progress in developing an edited book for the publisher Springer Nature. Major strengths of the book include its international research base, a theoretical framework to define home-based nursing, and diverse global case studies. The 400+ page book is expected to have around 40 chapters to present current evidence-based trends in student learning, clinical excellence, defining and measuring quality of care, and technology. We are recruiting international authors to write short chapters. Please let me know at info@ihcno.org if you would like to contribute to a topic.
I am looking forward to a productive 2026 filled with fun and adventures with IHCNO friends and projects.
