Joshua Hoffman serves IME as the Director of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs.
In his role, Hoffman is the primary contact on any technical or security matters before the Institute. As a subject matter expert, Hoffman serves both the commercial explosives industry and IME’s government partners by sharing his technical expertise, domestically and internationally, through his work with the United Nations.
Prior to joining IME, Hoffman was the inaugural SME-AAAS Congressional Fellow and served as a professional staff member on the House Committee on Natural Resources’ Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources.
Hoffman is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and holds a Kentucky State Blasters License.
He obtained his B.S. in Mining Engineering, with minors in explosives and chemistry, from Missouri University of Science and Technology and his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from the University of Kentucky.
