The Director of Plant Operations & Services is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Plant Operations, Grounds, and Environmental Services across the Holy Cross Village campus. This position ensures all building systems, equipment, maintenance operations, environmental services, and safety programs are effectively managed in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
The Director is responsible for operations across Independent Living, Assisted Living, Health Care, the Provincial House, St. Joseph Chapel, and St. Joseph Place. This role works closely with residents, staff, contractors, and visitors while maintaining a professional, service-oriented presence throughout the community.
• Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of Plant Operations, Grounds, and Environmental Services
• Supervise building systems, preventative maintenance, repairs, and campus infrastructure
• Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions
• Plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct departmental programs, activities, and budgets
• Manage department expenses, purchasing, and capital improvement projects
• Monitor product quality, vendor performance, and pricing to ensure cost-effective operations
• Collaborate with leadership and the CFO to prepare and manage departmental budgets
• Support and contribute to the long-term campus Master Plan for plant operations
• Conduct annual physical plant inspections and ensure compliance with organizational standards
• Coordinate and evaluate subcontractors and service providers to ensure quality and professionalism
• Develop and oversee campus safety programs, including monthly safety meetings, fire drills, disaster preparedness training, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Life Safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Manage work schedules, staffing, hiring, coaching, and disciplinary processes for department staff
• Oversee preventative maintenance and work order systems through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Maintain regulatory readiness and participate in inspections and surveys as needed
• Promote a safe, clean, and efficient environment for residents, visitors, and staff
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy practices and confidentiality standards
• Serve as a professional representative of the organization and perform other duties as assigned

Supervises Plant Operations, Grounds, Environmental Services, maintenance staff, and related departmental team members.
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Three to five years of plant operations, maintenance, or facilities leadership experience required
• Experience in healthcare, senior living, or long-term care preferred
• Knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, safety programs, and regulatory compliance
• Experience managing budgets, vendors, and capital projects
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to operational emergencies
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Life Safety Code, and healthcare facility regulations preferred
