Course Description:
In the dynamic landscape of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), providing quality dialysis care requires meticulous and supportive documentation. This presentation is tailored to equip healthcare professionals in SNFs with the essential skills and knowledge needed to create comprehensive and accurate documentation for individuals undergoing dialysis.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will acquire the skills to conduct thorough assessments of residents undergoing dialysis, including vital signs, fluid balance, and relevant health parameters.
2. Participants will gain an understanding of the regulatory requirements governing dialysis care documentation.
3. Participants will learn to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, fostering clear communication channels, and ensuring accurate information flow to enhance the overall quality of dialysis care and documentation.
Course Content:
15 min - Explore the fundamental principles and key components of documenting dialysis care and the importance of accurate documentation for monitoring and optimizing the resident’s health.
15 min - Review essential parameters related to dialysis care and how to accurately capture changes in patient condition and respond effectively.
15 min - Discuss the implications of incomplete or inaccurate documentation on facility compliance and the overall well-being of residents.
15 min - Discuss best practices for documenting medication administration, adherence, and potential side effects related to dialysis care.

Each session is eligible for one CEU for licensed Indiana administrators. LeadingAge Indiana will award the Indiana-specific CEU for each individual who signs the CEU Sign-In form returned to LAIN after a session. Signing the CEU Sign-in form attests that you have listened to the webinar in full.
