Counseling Interventions for Complex Situations: Differentiating Grief, Sadness & Depression
HospiLearn Series
WEBINAR
There is a difference between grief, sadness and depression and the differences need to guide our interventions. As an example, when we conduct a bereavement risk assessment, we determine if people are in a low, medium, or high-risk category. This is almost impossible to do effectively if, for instance, we are unclear about the difference between grief and depression. Are your interventions tailored specifically to meet the needs of people at various levels of risk? What theoretical frameworks are you using to provide “counseling” as required by Medicare? Clearly being supportive is not adequate for someone determined to be high risk. This webinar will focus on identifying risks associated with complex situations and then apply specific counseling interventions to examples.
