This morning, LeadingAge Ohio joined members like National Church Residences and advocates like the Affordable Housing Alliance in submitting testimony in support of HB 560, which would authorize a nonrefundable state tax credit that piggybacks on the federal low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) for affordable housing projects. Testimony was part of the bill’s second hearing before the House Families, Aging & Human Services Committee.
A new, state-level LIHTC program would offer a new lever for housing developers working to boost Ohio’s affordable housing stock during a time of great scarcity. Read LeadingAge Ohio’s testimony here. Questions or comments on the bill may be sent to Patrick Schwartz at pschwartz@leadingageohio.org.
