Haiti TPS-Based EADs Expired Effective July 27, 2026

Following its July 24, 2026 update extending the validity period for employment authorization documents (EADs) for holders of Haiti temporary protected status (TPS) by three days to July 27, the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Service (USCIS) has taken no action to further extend EADs. However, as of July 28, USCIS had not updated I-9 Central or E-Verify to reflect the change, creating a gap between agency guidance and the compliance systems employers rely on and increasing the risk of inconsistent employer action until those systems are updated.
