The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an update to the Risk-Based Survey Procedure Guide. Updates include clarification on what procedures surveyors should undertake for general ombudsman concerns that are not specific to an individual resident and concerns regarding residents who have been discharged. While this update does not impact members’ procedures, reviewing the resource will be helpful in understanding the process should an issue like this arise during a Risk-Based Survey at your organization.
