CARES Dementia Training Grant Available to Nursing Facilities

Ohio nursing facilities may apply to participate in a Civil Money Penalty Reinvestment Project offering three years of access to CARES online dementia care training and certification. Participating facilities would receive unlimited access to three programs totaling 14 hours, and staff members who complete the training may earn CARES certification at no additional cost.

The video-based training focuses on responding to dementia-related behaviors during care and is approved for continuing education through the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The project team will manage the application, contracting and reporting requirements.
