PREP Releases Accidents and Hazards Training and Falls Response Guide

Accidents and hazards, cited under F689, were the No. 1 immediate jeopardy and annual/complaint survey citation in 2024. PREP has developed a new training to help nursing facilities reduce these citations by reviewing federal regulations, Ohio laws and rules, interpretive guidance, common deficiencies and steps providers can take to prevent accidents and hazards.

The training also includes a new Falls Response Guide to support facilities after a resident fall. Continuing education is available at no cost for nurses, social workers and nursing home administrators.
