Longtime MAC members Dr. Eric Novak of Lansing and Dr. Susan Blaskay of Livonia were recently named to the Supervisory Committee of the Chiropractic Federal Credit Union, the nation’s only financial institution founded by and for doctors of chiropractic, their employees, and their families. For more than six decades, CFCU has been meeting the financial needs of the chiropractic profession and has been a pioneer in the credit union industry in the development and introduction of services for their members’ businesses.
Century Club member Dr. Susan Blaskay of Livonia is a Cum Laude graduate of Life who completed her pre-med program at the University of Michigan. She has been licensed to practice in Michigan since 1988. She has been consistently voted “Top Chiropractor” by Hour Detroit Magazine, 2010-2016.
MAC member Dr. Eric Novak of Lansing is Michigan native who was raised in Metro Detroit. A Palmer grad, he has also earned degrees from the University of Michigan (Health Policy) and Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs College (Biology).
Chiropractic Federal Credit Union (CFCU) began as a federally chartered credit union in 1950 by a group of chiropractors having difficulty obtaining loans from other financial institutions in order to advance their practices. These doctors pooled their resources and formed a credit union that would provide them with savings programs, which in turn would then provide the means to issue loans to members. From these humble beginnings, CFCU has grown over the last 65+ years to more than 2,800 members and more than $26 million in total assets. Membership with CFCU is available to licensed chiropractors in the state of Michigan, employees of chiropractors, and members of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, Ohio State Chiropractic Association, Alaska Chiropractic Society, and all immediate family members.
Longtime MAC members and leaders Dr. Christopher Dolecki, Dr. R. James Gregg, and Dr. Dennis Whitford recently attended a number of events associated with Governor Rick Snyder’s sixth State of the State Address. Governor Snyder’s speech outlined his 2016 priorities in a number of critical areas, including the public health crisis regarding the water in Flint.
The MAC’s lobbying firm, Public Affairs Associates, hosted a Lansing reception after the speech. The MAC delegation met with such high-level policymakers as Senate Majority Leader Arlan Meekhof (R-West Olive), Speaker of the House Kevin Cotter (R-Mt. Pleasant), and House Minority Leader Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills).
Life graduate Dr. Christopher Dolecki of Lake Orion currently serves as Vice President/Director of External Affairs. In this position he acts as the liaison between the Executive Committee and the Government Affairs and Legal Affairs committees. Prior to his election as Vice President, he served as Vice Chair of the MAC Government Relations Committee and as a member of the Legal Affairs and Insurance Committees. In 2009, Dr. Dolecki was named MAC “Chiropractor of the Year” for his “outstanding leadership, service and dedication” in the fight to bring Michigan’s chiropractic scope of practice into the 21st Century. Since 1999, Dr. Dolecki has served on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee, representing the opinions of the chiropractic profession with regard to decisions about Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and contractor policies. He regularly brings this expertise to Michigan chiropractors through his appearances at MAC insurance seminars.
Michigan chiropractic legend Dr. R. James Gregg, a graduate of Logan, has practiced in Garden City for more than 30 years. He has been the Chair of the MAC Government Relations Committee since the inception of the MAC in 2007. He was a driving force behind the MAC’s successful legislative strategy to update of Michigan’s chiropractic scope of practice, which led to his being named Michigan’s “Chiropractor of the Year” for 2009. He lectures throughout the United States and Canada to chiropractic associations, colleges, laymen, professional health organizations, and state government, on such topics as chiropractic philosophy, staff motivation, training chiropractic hospital programs, and practice management.

As Chair, Dr. Whitford presides over MAC Board of Directors meetings and acts as the liaison between the Executive Committee and the Public Relations Committee.
