Rochester chiropractor Dr. Sara Whedon was recently elected to serve on the MichiCare Board of Trustees. MichiCare is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors (MAC) formed to provide professional services and resources to MAC members. Dr. Whedon was nominated for a one-year term on the Board of Trustees by the current Board and was elected unanimously at their July meeting.

About Dr. Whedon
A graduate of Logan University’s College of Chiropractic in Missouri, Dr. Sara Whedon is a member of the MAC Board of Directors. She represents MAC District 3, which is made up of Oakland County. She has also served as the district’s president. Dr. Whedon has served on the MAC Board since 2017.
She is a key member of the MAC’s Public Relations Committee, serving as one of the public faces of the organization. She often appears in television spots with Lansing Fox 47’s “Morning Blend” about chiropractic and other health topics, and she has also appeared in numerous MAC Facebook Live presentations promoting various public relations campaigns, such as the effort to raise awareness of Sports Specialization Injuries (SSIs) and the benefits of participating in multiple sports for students in middle and high school. She also serves as a member of the MAC’s Education and Programs Committee.
In 2018, MAC President Dr. Christopher Dolecki of Lake Orion presented her with the MAC’s President’s Award for her “strong record of leadership and service to the MAC, the chiropractic profession, and chiropractic patients across the state of Michigan” (see photo). In 2015, she received the MAC’s “Rising Star Award” “in appreciation of members who are stepping above and beyond for the chiropractic profession by taking on leadership roles.”
A native of Rochester Hills, Dr. Whedon also earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a master’s degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, both from Logan. She has also earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Miami.
