Purpose of the Project
As part of Teakia Brown's internship with the Massachusetts Large Cities Health Coalition (MLCHC), She is examining how artificial intelligence (AI) tools can support public health data analysis- particularly for Community Health Assessments (CHAs) and Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIPs).
This survey is designed to understand local health departments’ (LHDs):
Current technological capacity
Data-related challenges
Readiness to adopt AI tools
No IT background is required to participate. I aim to gather a broad and accurate picture of what LHDs need to use AI effectively and responsibly.
Goals of the Survey
Collect and analyze statewide feedback to identify opportunities where the Commonwealth or partner organizations can better support LHDs.
Develop a comprehensive final report outlining the project’s methodology, key findings, and recommendations for a phased, statewide approach to integrating AI into CHAs and CHIPs.
Survey questions reference common public health data sources. For clarity:
YRBS – Youth Risk Behavior Survey
BRFSS – Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System
ACS – American Community Survey
Your participation will help ensure that future guidance, tools, and resources align with the real needs and capacities of Massachusetts LHDs. Click below to fill out the survey.
