The Office of Local and Regional Health is currently accepting applications to the Public Health Services at the Local and Regional Level RFR.
This is an opportunity for local and regional public health entities in Massachusetts to be eligible for potential future funding from the Department of Public Health (DPH). Future procurements offering direct grant funding to local municipalities will be filed under this RFR.
Those municipalities without a fully executed contract on this RFR will not be eligible for future services nor available funding provided through any procurements filed under this RFR.
Future procurements will mainly focus on strengthening local capacity which may include: training, staffing, specialty programming, shared service arrangements, coordination enhancement across eligible entities, infrastructure improvement, equipment procurement and/or upgrades, IT modernization, assessment, and evaluation. All spending is subject to review prior to expending funds.
How it works
Once applications are processed, municipalities receive contract packages to review and sign; the MSA contract you are being asked to sign will allow your municipality to be eligible for future funding only provided through the MSA. Signing sets you up to be on a pre-approved vendor list when future procurements are posted. You are not agreeing to any specific scope by signing and no funding is awarded at this stage.
How to apply
Please find the COMMBUYS link to the RFR posting.
Please note that the confidentiality agreement must be initialed and signed by whomever has local signatory authority. For some communities, it can be the director of public health. For others, it has needed to be the mayor.
