Speaker: Carrie Christy CPC, CPEDC, CEMC, CPMA

Carrie Christy is a Physician Coding Auditor and Educator at MedKoder. She has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Carrie is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with specialty credentials in Auditing (CPMA), Pediatrics (CPEDC), and Evaluation and Management (CEMC) through the AAPC. Carrie served as the President and Vice President and is currently the education officer of her local chapter in Greenville, SC. She has extensive experience in coding and auditing in multiple specialties. Her favorites include pediatrics, mental health, and ophthalmology. Carrie has held positions in insurance precertification, billing, denials, coding, auditing, and education. Her experience on both the provider and the revenue side makes her a well-rounded, knowledgeable coding resource. In addition to her work, she is a frequent speaker at her local chapter meetings as well as other AAPC Chapters across the United States. 

Join us as we discuss mental health coding. This presentation covers many different aspects of mental health. We will discuss different types of mental health providers, mental health CPT codes, and how the DSM-V affects ICD-10 coding. We will also discuss documentation and insurance requirements.
