Certified Hematology & Oncology Coder (CHONC) Training & Exam

Walsh College - Troy, MI

MSHO continues to support the professional growth of our dedicated reimbursement specialists by offering the Certified Hematology and Oncology Coder (CHONC™) credentialing exam. The Society has contracted with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) to conduct a workshop & exam, for experienced oncology billers and coders new to this certification.  The workshop will be held on Thursday, November 9th and the exam will be held on Friday, November 10th.

Specialty exams aptly measure preparedness for “real-world” coding by being operative/patient-note based. In addition to questions regarding the correct application of ICD-10-CM, CPT®, HCPCS Level II and modifier coding assignments, examinees will also be tested on specialty-specific coding and regulations.

While there is no requirement, AAPC strongly recommends that candidates have at least two years of experience in the specialty. These are difficult, high-level examinations not meant for individuals with little, limited or no coding experience.

Space is limited to twenty participants and is currently full.  To be added to the waitlist, please email mmakarewicz@msho.org
