Since 2000, Downtown Columbus has seen 200% growth in the Downtown population, buoyed by over $3.25 billion in combined public and private investment. This uptick in residents and investment has been catalyzed by new amenities like Columbus Commons and the Scioto Mile, parks that were created utilizing public-private partnerships. This successful model for revitalization is now being replicated on the Scioto Peninsula.
Poised to be Downtown’s next great neighborhood, the focus on greenspace and cultural amenities continues with the opening of the new National Veterans Memorial and Museum, Dorrian Green and the American Museum of Natural History at COSI.
