Yesterday was World Kindness Day, but the spirit of kindness is something we can carry forward every day. As a leader, you set the tone, and small gestures of kindness from you can create a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.
Strategy: Let’s keep the momentum going with a “Kindness Ripple.” Even a small gesture—like offering a helping hand or sharing a sincere compliment—can make a big impact. Show your team that kindness isn’t just a concept; it’s an action. Encourage each team member to “pass it on” by doing something kind for a colleague, and watch as kindness spreads through your department.
Extra Idea: Start a “Kindness Jar.” Invite your team to jot down acts of kindness they’ve noticed or received and add them to the jar. At the end of each week, take a moment to read a few aloud to highlight and celebrate these moments.
