Paul Haggerty accepts the John Sweeny Education Award

Lifelong Educator Paul Haggerty receives the John Sweeny Education Award from Clarica Douglas Ajayi.

This award is presented in recognition of the educational contributions that John Sweeny made to technician education.   While John wanted to be in person to present this award, he was unable to join DTX42 in person.  Here is his introduction of Paul:

Welcome and thank you for joining us to celebrate a remarkable educator. Before I had the pleasure of meeting and working him, I knew of his reputation from students who had attended his classes. Every student spoke very highly of him, appreciating his teaching style and depth of knowledge.

He has taught more different technical classes in the field of dialysis than anyone else I know. His experience and expertise spans across Hemodialysis machines, Peritoneal dialysis equipment, and Water treatment systems.

Being able to educate students is truly an art form. It takes a special person to not only create educational material but to present it in a way that is interesting, informative, and fun to learn.

Today, we celebrate his dedication, his impact on countless students, and his contributions to the field of dialysis education. Thank you for your dedication and for making learning a joyous and rewarding experience for all your students.
