Position Engineer
Description WECT is seeking a candidate who would like to become a professional broadcast and facilities Engineer. This person would be responsible for basic facilities maintenance such as minor carpentry, minor plumbing, and general building maintenance. In addition, an understanding of basic IT and electronics theory is required to be successful in this position.

The Broadcast Facilities Engineer will perform maintenance and maintenance management of the studio and transmitter facilities as well as assist in the maintenance of the technical equipment installed in a television station. The position will occasionally require working nights, weekends, and during severe storms.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Basic electronics and electrical skills

• A working knowledge of Windows networking and proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office applications

• The ability to use basic hand tools to perform minor electrical, carpentry, and plumbing repairs

• Basic understanding of day-to-day facilities maintenance

• Associate’s degree in IT, electronic technology, or related work experience

• In addition, the candidate should have a curious mind and be willing to seek further knowledge of the skills required to be a successful, productive broadcast engineer

• A clean driving record is also required

• This position will require occasional work on step and extension ladders, and lifting up to 75 pounds
