Mike Waldvogel Inducted Into NC Pest Management Hall of Fame

State pest management association grants highest honor

The North Carolina Pest Management Association (NCPMA) recently inducted Mike Waldvogel, Ph.D., into its Hall of Fame, the association’s highest honor. Waldvogel is the former Extension Associate Professor & Extension Specialist at North Carolina State University’s Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology.

The NCPMA Hall of Fame recognizes the men and women who have made significant life-long contributions to the pest management industry in North Carolina. 

“The NCPMA Hall of Fame recognizes the pest management professionals who have made significant contributions to our association and our industry through their leadership and example,” said John Adkins, NCPMA President.  “Dr. Waldvogel has been an instrumental part of the pest management industry in North Carolina for decades. His knowledge of pests, their behaviors and trends is unparalleled, and we, as an industry, are truly thankful for all of the insight, guidance and wisdom he has shared with us throughout the years.”

In 2019, NCPMA developed the NCPMA Extension Program Endowment in Honor of Mike Waldvogel which supports the ongoing work of North Carolina State University, focusing on supporting positions that directly contribute to the education of the pest management industry. The endowment program was founded in honor of Waldvogel’s contribution to the pest management industry.

The induction ceremony was held during the NCPMA Virtual Pest Control Technician’s School in January 2021.
