A new training program by the North Carolina Pest Management Association (NCPMA) will educate and recognize expert pest technicians. The NCPMA Premier Technician Program is an 18-month, intensive, hands-on training program designed to recognize pest management technicians who strive to be experts in the industry.
The first Premier Technician Program courses will be offered in Fall 2019. Registration will soon be available on the NCPMA website, www.ncpestmanagement.com.
“We know that there are pest management technicians who want to take their careers to the next level, and we are excited to offer this to our members. The Premier Technician Program will provide North Carolina’s pest management technicians with a new level of education and expertise not found anywhere else,” said Marie Horner, NCPMA Board Member. “For more than 70 years, NCPMA has offered unparalleled educational opportunities for our members, and we are thrilled to add this program to our suite of training courses.”
The Premier Technician program offers a continuous series of courses in as little as 18-months that educates participants about pest infestations from discovery to treatment and will provide in-depth, hands-on training in the classroom and the field using state-of-the-art equipment. Each course is taught by top professionals and educators who will keep participants engaged and learning in unique environments.
The Premier Technician Program includes courses on Cockroaches, Ants, Flying Insects, Bed Bugs, Rodents, Wood Destroying Insect Report Accreditation, Wood Destroying Organisms and Occasional Invaders/Stored Product Pests.

It was announced at the 2019 Carolinas/Mid-Atlantic Summer Conference in Myrtle Beach.
