NCSU June Update

NC State University and the Structural Pest Extension, Research, and Training (SPERT) Program held the inaugural Urban Pest Field Day on June 6, a new effort by the SPERT team to connect the public to the structural pest management industry. This event, called the Urban Pest Field Day, was sponsored by manufacturers and the pest management industry alike.

While this inaugural year saw only ~70 attendees, those who made it out got to experience this incredible industry first hand. They saw and held live pest insects, constructed pest-themed crafts, got hands on with field-ready vehicles and equipment, and performed their own pest inspection in the Pest Pavilion Scavenger Hunt.

This event will be held annually on the first Saturday of June, and will be renamed as the NC State University Pest Fest moving forward. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 5, 2027 for the 2nd Annual Pest Fest!
