*A message from Dr. Chris Hayes
Hey Folks! Dr. Chris here, with a unique opportunity for you to take a look at!
Apart from all of the wonderful things I do at NC State I am also the sitting Vice President of the NC Entomological Society (www.ncentsoc.org). This is a society dedicated to the incredible field of entomology from professionals to hobbyists. Each of you is an entomologist in your own right, and so I want to make you aware of this community and invite you to consider becoming a member!
NCPMA served as the Premier Sponsor for NCES's Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on Oct. 14.
If you've never heard of NCES, that doesn't surprise me. For many years it has just rolled along, not pushing towards new heights and goals. Well, if you know anything about me, I don't just "roll" along! Over the next few years during my tenure in executive leadership I want to see the society transformed. I want to see membership explode, partnerships made across industries, and entomologists across the state connected through our social events and meetings.
Why should you consider joining?
Again, this opportunity is not affiliated with NC State University, or with the SPERT Program. This is a chance for you, as a citizen scientist and entomologist to join a society full of all the "weird bug people." We welcome you with open tarsi - see what I did there?? So head to the website above, learn more about it, and consider joining. If you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out to me directly (cchayes@ncsu.edu).
Thanks folks!
-Dr. Chris
