Hi, we are looking into selling renter's insurance to our tenants-those of you who sell it, can you please tell me what company you use?
Do you give tenants an option to purchase, or make it a requirement?
Does the person affiliated with our company, who has their insurance license, have to be physically in our office for us to sell it?
Pros and cons? Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you :-)

Kevin gave you the BEST advise
I strongly recommend StorSmart and making it a lease requirement.

Another option is assured partners. Eric Gilbert is on our board and represents this firm. I have been with stores mart but recently changed to Eric‘s firm. I had no problems with the previous firm but decided to support Eric‘s firm. I think you’d be happy with either one. Good luck.

There are multiple options out there that can be used. How we have separated ourselves from the competition is you control your retail price. We are broader than any one else, we include Flood, Rodent, Rising Water from a Named Storm. We are relatively new but have grown in NC because of the broad coverage. Our coverage is called AssuredContents, we are a marketplace vendor for SiteLink. check out our website www.assuredcontents.com. Call me to discuss, (919) 559-3596

When they ask about details, we say, "The unit fee is x$, there is a one time admin fee of $15 and you are required to carry insurance on your unit. We offer several inexpensive options or you can bring the declaration page of your homeowners/renter insurance. Now, you don't have to let them bring their own, but that's an option.

We use StorSmart Insurnace. Other vendor members are Bader, SafeStor insurnace, and MiniCo.
Each will require seperate things but in general, the NCSSA aprroved lease makes insurance covering the tenants items a "material condition of the lease"
The person with the license does not have to be there, it's a limited license through the DOI
