Proper Coding for a Plantar Plate Repair

What is the proper code for a plantar plate repair?

There is no specific CPT code for plantar plate repair.  If the surgical service is performed, it will need to be billed to the patient’s insurance as CPT code 28899,  along with op-reports outlining the procedure in order to get reimbursement from the patient’s insurance.
