Codes to Use to Override Timely Filing for Medicaid

Since the Medicare/Medicaid dual eligibility glitch has been fixed, we were advised that we could go back and resubmit denied claims as of 1/1/17. My billing company would like to know what exception code we should use to override the timely filing limit for Medicaid and additionally will Medicaid recognize the exception code and pay?

If the claims are resubmitted to Medicaid through ePaces or through billing software, the following reason codes would be acceptable in order to have the timely filing limit overridden so the claims can be reconsidered:

• Authorization delay
• Original rejected
• Other
