Podiatrist-Performing a Nerve Conduction Velocity Test with EMG

Is it within the scope of practice for a podiatrist to perform a nerve conduction velocity test with EMG?

It is within the scope of practice for podiatry to perform a NCV with an EMG on the same DOS. Both tests can be ordered but are subject to the documentation and medical necessity requirements outlined in the NGS LCD policy. However, some insurance companies may not cover this. We will also bring this up with the Insurance Committee for discussion.
