Cooperative Overview:
CHS Aligned Solutions is working with a member cooperative, United Quality Cooperative, a newly unified and very successful multiple location cooperative located in Parshall, North Dakota. United Quality Cooperative consists of full service energy, farm retail, grain origination & grain shuttle loading, bulk refined fuel and propane, agronomy, crop protection, custom application, seed LLC, seven locations. Annual sales are projected at $350+ million.
Position Overview:
This position requires accounting skills as well as an understanding of finance/budgeting, planning and business process controls. Also must have good communication, supervisory, public relations and organizational skills to manage the total operation. The successful candidate will work extensively with a nine person board. The ideal candidate must be able to make decisions and work independently. The candidate must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the operation of the entire business according to United Quality’s objectives to provide patrons with prompt, courteous and effective service while maintaining the efficiency necessary to achieve a return on investment.
- Manage a program of safety and equipment maintenance to avoid breakdowns and limit safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Evaluate patron credit needs and extend credit in accordance with United Quality’s policies. Monitor credit liability and manage the collection of accounts receivable.
- Monitor the daily long/short position for commodities to effectively manage inventory risk.
- Educate both employees and patrons in the operations of the business objectives to enhance employee effectiveness and improve customer relations.
- Establish and implement short-term goals that are consistent with long-range plans for growth in the operation, including facility, equipment and personnel.
- Continue to build on our mission “to Profitably Deliver Stakeholder Value” and our vision of “Striving for Excellence.”
- Communicate with department managers to coordinate and complete all aspects of the consolidated operation.
- Communicate with the Board of Directors and members of United Quality Cooperative.
- Keep abreast of industry trends or changes to accurately answer patron inquiries.
- Manage United Quality’s workforce through responsible training and clear job assignment definition and explanation, including organizational chart, job descriptions, and regular employee reviews (annual).
- Continue to build a strong sales and marketing culture.
- Monitor the work of all employees to correct deficient performance and effectively reward and develop all employees.
- Oversee the information provided for month-end close, inventory valuation, bringing contracts to market, physical, inventory, freight, etc.
- Properly document daily and month-end accounting transactions.

Basic Qualifications (Preferred):
- 4 year minimum degree in Agriculture or Business
- 5 – 7 years of Management / CEO or experience equivalent
