Agronomy Sales Manager

CHS Member Cooperative in Western Kentucky

CHS Aligned Solutions is providing selection services for a local agricultural retailer/cooperative to hire an Agronomy Sales Manager located in Western Kentucky. This position is designed as a senior level role and will report directly to the General Manager.

Position Overview:

The Agronomy Sales Manager’s primary responsibility is to mentor, train and coach a talented field sales team throughout Western Kentucky. This includes setting sales expectations, providing necessary resources to meet expectations of customers and aid them with outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities:

Provide effective supervision, coaching and sound leadership with the intent of creating the conditions where field sales personnel can achieve maximized professional potential in sales and customer service.
Work with field sales personnel to foster relationships with key accounts, current customer and prospects, within the cooperative’s trade area.
Develop, implement and execute sales growth in crop protection, seed, fertilizer and precision agricultural marketing programs.
Coordinate effectively with vendors/suppliers to maintain current and correct programs and pricing.
Field travel with sales personnel, providing coaching, feedback and professional development.
Plan and direct staffing, training and performance commitments and evaluations to develop and control sales functions.
Listens to, leverages, and promotes diverse ideas, perspectives, and contributions throughout the region and the company.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural with a preference in Sales Management training
7+ years agricultural experience of agronomy sales
Must have basic math skills, proficient in computer systems including Microsoft Office and AGRIS
Must have excellent communication skills
Experience in managing budgets, managing teams and running a profitable enterprise
A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
