CHS Member Cooperative in North Central Ohio

CHS is partnering with a successful member cooperative in North Central Ohio to find an experienced Agronomist to join the team at a successful branch. Located an hour northeast of Columbus, this position will provide competitive pay and benefits as well as an opportunity to be part of a successful branch.

Position Overview:

This position is for an experienced Agronomist who has strong skills in crop scouting, precision agriculture methods and crop protection products. Designed as an experienced role with mid-career level pay, a successful candidate will focus on customer service, building relationships and exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

Scout fields, supporting the proper use of crop protection products, seed and precision agriculture to customers to grow market share.
Create and recommend specific agronomy programs based off of yield results, crop scouting and seed knowledge to customers.
Spend a majority of time in the country working with farmers to earn business.
Understand the business functions of employee team and assist the team in improving the efficiency and profitability of the location(s) assigned.
Coordinate with fertilizer applicators and tanks on the spreading, spraying and delivery of bulk fertilizer to assure the correct product, placement and application rate.
Assure that federal and state regulations pertaining to chemicals and fertilizers are observed and adhered to.

Qualifications:

Outstanding customer service skills and ability to build trust quickly
Minimum of five years’ experience in agronomy, seed, crop protection products and VRT
Demonstrate strong communication/persuasive/business skills
