Erica Wallace

Children and Families Advisor

Erica Wallace serves as Children and Families Advisor, leading statewide support, advocacy, and strategic direction for county board programs serving children from birth through school age. In this role, she provides technical assistance, professional development, and cross-agency collaboration to strengthen Early Intervention, preschool, and school-age services and improve outcomes for children and families across Ohio.

Erica joined the association in August 2023 and brings more than a decade of experience in Ohio’s developmental disabilities system. She began her career with the Scioto County Board of Developmental Disabilities, where she served as a Service and Support Administrator before spending 10 years in Early Intervention, including leadership as Director of Early Intervention. Her work has focused on program oversight, compliance, service coordination, and family-centered practices.

Her current work centers on systems alignment, policy-to-practice implementation, workforce development and cross-system collaboration to ensure high-quality, consistent supports for children and families statewide.

Erica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from Shawnee State University and has additional certifications, including PLAY Project certification for children with autism and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) training.

Erica is passionate about ensuring children with developmental delays and disabilities receive timely, high-quality supports that empower families and create opportunities for children to thrive. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, playing cards, reading, practicing Pilates, and spending time with her daughters.
