Ruben Garcia serves as a board member of the Vinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities and has been a passionate advocate for people with disabilities since the age of 11. Born with cerebral palsy, Garcia brings both personal experience and decades of advocacy to his work.
Having received services through Ohio's developmental disabilities system since 1987, Garcia began his self-advocacy journey in 1988. Over the years, he has served on numerous boards and worked with organizations dedicated to supporting and empowering people with disabilities. His advocacy is driven by a commitment to ensuring that people with disabilities have a voice in decisions that affect their lives and opportunities to achieve a better quality of life.
