OACDL Lawyer of the year - William Gallagher

William "Bill" Gallagher

Bill is receiving this award for his long career of advocacy and service to the criminal defense bar.   He began his career as a public defender in Lake County and has always thought of himself as a public defender at heart.  He was largely responsible for reforming the Hamilton County Public Defender office and transforming it into one of the best in the state.

In addition he has been of service to the OACDL, the NACDL and the CCDLA.  He was one of the founders of the Ohio Innocence Project.   He has also taken the time to teach others to advocate at the highest level of professionalism that is demanded of us.

The award will be presented at the October 8 Superstar Seminar.  Congratulations Bill!
