EM Residency Spotlight - OU-HCOM at Marietta Memorial Hospital
We are honored to have been asked to share some of our accomplishments in Marietta with the rest of Ohio! Our Osteopathic EM residency was started in 2011 and we graduated our first resident, Dr. Tiffany Heu, in December 2014. Also of note, Dr. Tyler Hill, PGY 3, was elected to the Ohio ACEP Board as the Resident Representative in August 2014.
Even though our residency is relatively new, we are working diligently to improve with innovations in our didactics including the use of national conference videos which bring renowned speakers into our little corner of Ohio, the use of Individualized Interactive Instruction, and we have instituted a technology-based group exercise investigating a preselected topic. We have recently begun our residency’s first prospective research study. The role of Teaching Resident began this year and was well received by the medical students who rotated with us.
We are preparing for the Single Accreditation System with enthusiasm and look forward to what the future holds for us!
