Ohio ACEP Councillor Candidate

Gary Katz, MD, MBA, FACEP—Incumbent

Dublin, Ohio

Dr. Gary Katz is Vice President of Clinical Quality and Service Excellence at Premier-TEAMHealth, where he has also served as Facility Medical Director and Director of Patient Satisfaction. Before that, he was an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Department of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Katz’s work with ACEP at the national level includes service on the Steering Committee, Reference Committee, and Tellers Committee, where he says he learned the importance of strengthening ties among emergency physicians in order to create better work environments, increase the influence of the medical specialty, and provide the best possible patient care.

He is a recipient of a number of honors, including the ACEP Horizon Leadership Award and was named as one of ACEP’s Heroes of Emergency Medicine. He has also served as a Councillor representing the Ohio Chapter for several years.

In addition to his work as a Councillor, Dr. Katz has been actively involved with Ohio ACEP as a member of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Leadership Development Academy, and as Chapter President for two terms.

Dr. Katz is running for reelection as Councillor because he has extensive experience building bridges among the Councillors that can help the Ohio Chapter affect positive change and effectively advocate on behalf of its members. He also hopes to contribute to the strength of the Chapter by mentoring new emergency medicine leaders and Councillors.
